Hi! This is D'Lux and I've finally come up with some awesome books that have been released recently and one Final Fantasy box set that is due out in November.
'Sleeping Beauty' remains one of the most celebrated of all fairy tales.
First published by Charles Perrault in 1697, his vision of the ageless,
enchanted princess slumbering in her vine-encrusted tower has
fascinated readers and artists for more 300 years - three times as long
as the heroine slept. This heavily-illustrated book traces the history
of that fascination, which has manifested itself in literature, fine
art, poetry, music and film.
To start off with, the beautiful hardcover Once Upon a Dream: From Perrault's Sleeping Beauty to Disney's Maleficent by Charles Solomon came out in June to coincide with the release of Disney's hit movie Maleficent. I loved the movie but didn't know what to expect from this book thinking that maybe it would focus on Disney's classic Sleeping Beauty. And, yes it does, but it also features quite a bit on the making of Maleficent. It's a beautiful book with gorgeous illustrations and photos from the movies. Highly recommended if you're collecting "The Art of ..." books.
The Art of the Disney Golden Books celebrates a legacy that has now

Includes bibliographical references and index.; For more than a dozen years, a soft spoken, unassuming woman dominated design at The Walt Disney Studios with a joyful creativity and exuberant color palette that stamped the look of many classic Disney animated features, including Cinderella and Peter Pan. Favorite theme park attractions, most notably the It's A Small World boat ride, originally created for the 1964 New York World's Fair, were also among her designs. Now the story behind one of Walt's favorite artists is celebrated in this delightful volume of whimsical art and insightful commentary. In her prime, Mary Blair was an amazingly prolific American artist who enlivened and influenced the not-so-small worlds of film, print, theme parks, architectural decor, and advertising. Her art represented and communicated pure pleasure to the viewer. Mary Blair's personal flair was at one with the imagery that flowed effortlessly and continually from her brush for more than half a century.
