Hi everyone it's Xebs, the first teaser footage from the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns debuted during Oscars ceremony, with Emily Blunt stepping into Julie Andrews’ role as Mary Poppins.
The new film is based on P.L. Travers’ beloved books takes place 25 years after the first film, as Mary Poppins returns to 1930s London to visit an all-grown-up Jane (played by Emily Mortimer) and Michael Banks (played by Ben Whishaw).
In the trailer introduces Lin-Manuel Miranda as a London lamplighter named Jack, who, like Dick Van Dyke all those years ago, appears to have an affinity for flying kites.
Also starring are Meryl Streep as Mary’s cousin Topsy, Angela Lansbury as the Balloon Lady, and Colin Firth as a banker named William Weatherall Wilkins. (Van Dyke is also set to appear as the chairman of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank.)
Mary Poppins Returns will hit theatres December 25th, 2018 (US), January 1st, 2019 (Australia).
