Disney Updates List Of Live-action Remakes!


Hi everyone it's Xebs, with the sweeping success of the live-action version of "The Jungle Book" at the box-office. Announced by the Hollywood Reporter, Disney have announced their confirmed list of sixteen live-action remakes of well known Disney animated films. 

The Hollywood Reporter has also stated three of the upcoming Disney live-action films that have confirmed dates.

"Alice Through the Looking Glass" 
May 27th 2016 (US).


"Pete’s Dragon"
August 12th 2016 (US).

"Beauty and the Beast" (starring Emma Watson)
March 17th 2017 (US).

Other Disney live-action films that have been announced, but haven't got their release dates announced yet.

Based on 1961's "101 Dalmatians" titled 
"Cruella" (starring Emma Stone)

Sequel to 2014's "Maleficent" titled
"Maleficent 2"

Sequel to 2016's "The Jungle Book" (Live-action) titled 
"The Jungle Book 2"

Based on 1953's 
"Peter Pan"

Based on 1940's
"Pinocchio"

Based on 1998's 
"Mulan"

Based on 1963's
"The Sword in the Stone"

Based on 1977's
"Winnie the Pooh"

Prequel based on 1992's "Aladdin" titled
"Genies"

Based on 1937's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" titled
"Rose Red"

Sidestory to 2015's "Cinderella" (Live-action) titled 
"Prince Charming"

Sidestory to "Peter Pan" (Live-action) titled
"Tinker Bell"

Based on 1941's titled
(Tim Burton's) "Dumbo"

Also, there are another three titles that don't have a correlation to any of the Disney animated films. They are:

Sequel to 1964's "Mary Poppins" working title
"Mary Poppins 2" (starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins)

A book based on 
"A Wrinkle in Time" (directed by Ava DuVernay)

Based on a Disneyland ride 
"Jungle Cruise" (starring Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson)

and…

A book based on 
"The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" (directed by Lasse Hallstrom)

There has been no word on a sequel to 2007's "Enchanted" or 2010's "Tron: Legacy".
