Two Sad Deaths, Voice-actor Chikao Ōtsuka & Singer Origa Pass-away!


Hi everyone it's Xebs, this past week, two persons who worked for SQUARE-ENIX have sadly died. Voice-actor Chikao Ōtsuka and singer Origa. 

Chikao Ōtsuka was best-known from voicing Master Xehanort and Captain Hook in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts. He has also done voice work for Final Fantasy XII as Doctor Cidolfus Demen Bunansa. He also acted in many animes such as Moomins, Bayblade, One Piece and Mobile Suit Gundam. Alongside Final Fantasy XII and the Kingdom Hearts games, he has played in the Sonic games as Eggman, the Tales of Xillia games as Maxwell, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as Big Boss, Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse as Pope Sergius XVII. He died from ischemic heart failure aged 85 on the 15th of January.

Origa (or her birth name "Ol'ga Yakovleva") passed away on the 17th of January due to lung cancer. She was a Russian pop artist who has performed in many Japanese animes and games, including Final Fantasy XIII-2. Her career took off after gaining international acclaim for her performances of the ''Ghost in the Shell'' theme songs, which eventually led her working on bigger projects. For the Final Fantasy community, she is best known for singing in Final Fantasy XIII-2 songs like, ''New Bodhum'', ''Historia Crux'', ''Missing Link'', ''Parallel World'' and ''Space-Time Interval''. She was 44 years old.
